Richard W Holskey

Richard “Dick” W. Holskey, age 71, of Newcomerstown died Sunday August 5, 2018 in Columbus.

Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 11, 2018 at the Franklin Cemetery . There will be no calling hours.

Richard was born December 16, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio and was the son of James and Wilma (Hilton) Holskey.  He married Donna Stapp and she preceded him in death.  He was a truck driver, mechanic, heavy equipment operator and also a coal miner.    He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.  He lived with his niece Shelly Klein of Newcomerstown, Ohio and was also care for by his great niece Marissa Barnett of West Lafayette, Ohio.   He enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting targets and watching westerns and war movies.  He was an animal lover.    

Surviving are two children Richard (Kristen) Holskey of Walhonding, Ohio and Allan (Versa) Holskey of Newark, Ohio; 8 grandchildren Charlotte Holskey, Ayden Holskey, Kaitlin, Terry, Nick Haught  Richard, Rachel, and Ryan Tanley; 5 great grandchildren; a brother Jim (Geraldine) Holskey of West Lafayette, Ohio and a sister Wanda (Gene) Steed of Newcomerstown, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and his pet chihuahua named Dog.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a grandson Aaron Holskey, a granddaughter Brenda Holskey.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter 217556 TR 164 Morgan Run Road, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
