Basil Leroy Lanham Sr.

Basil Leroy Lanham Sr., age 77, of Coshocton passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.  He was born July 12,1946 in Clark, Ohio to the late Basil Clinton and Maggie (Duff) Lanham.

Basil served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Coshocton Fraternal Order of Eagles 761.  He also enjoyed playing softball, pool, racing homing pigeons and woodworking.

Basil is survived by seven children, John (Shelley) Duff of Coshocton, Bernice Ryan of Coshocton, Basil Leroy (Lisa) Lanham Jr. of Coshocton, Joan Dingman of Texas, Chucky (Sheri) Duff of Florida, Basil Leroy (Tabby) Lanham III of West Lafayette and James Shryock of Coshocton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 21, 2023 at The Free Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Cutshall officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will be performing military honors. Calling hours will be 11:00 A.M. Monday until time of service.
