As a young adult, Buddy loved and religiously practiced the principles of martial arts.
Harlan accepted Christ and joined the fellowship of St Andrew AME Church of Coshocton, Ohio; but later was baptized and affiliated with New Birth Christian Ministries in Columbus, Ohio.
Buddy was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet Spencer McCall; two sisters, Gloria McCall Rodgers and Marva McCall; and Stepfather, Warren Meredith.
