John Howard Watson, 70 of Coshocton passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his home. He was born April 28, 1950 to Joseph and Thelma Watson in Los Angeles, California. He was raised by the late John and Merie Rodgers.
John graduated from high school and then served in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War and earned several awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and Marksman (Rifle) Badge.
John retired from Packard Electric. He enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball.
John is survived by three children Johnny (Melissa) Watson of Warren, Ohio, Shanna (Walter) Jackson of Boardman, Ohio and Tiffany (Rosner) Triol of Coshocton; nine grandchildren Kayla, Alyssa, Serenity, Karma, Kaylee, Kaylin, Landyn, William Smith and George Smith; two sisters Margie Stinson of Oklahoma and Janie Dean of Tennessee; four brothers Richard Rodgers, George Paul Rodgers, Pud Rodgers and J.D. Rodgers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers James Hancock and Bud Rodgers.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton, Ohio. The Coshocton County Veterans will be conducting military rites following the service. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service.
